The France striker, Kylian Mbappe, has been reinstated into Paris Saint-Germain’s first-team training squad and will not leave this summer.

Mbappe was not part of the squad for PSG’s goalless draw with Lorient on the opening day of the season.

The French superstar had been excluded from training with the senior squad for declining to sign a contract extension, as his current deal has less than a year remaining.

However, he resumed first-team training on Sunday morning. The Telegraph reported that he is expected to stay this summer, with the club anticipating a new deal, preventing him from running down his contract and leaving for free.

A statement from PSG stated: ‘Following very constructive and positive discussions between Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappe before the PSG – Lorient game, the player has been reinstated into the first team training squad this morning.’

The France star also did not participate in PSG’s pre-season tour of Asia, and there were suggestions that he would be kept away from the main group.

Earlier this summer, Mbappe rejected the opportunity to join Al-Hilal after the Saudi Arabian side made a world-record bid of £259 million.

There have been indications that Mbappe could join Real Madrid as a free agent next summer. PSG is determined to prevent such a scenario to ensure they receive a significant fee for him.

PSG faces Toulouse away next Saturday, and it remains to be seen whether Mbappe will be involved in that fixture.
